Starbucks

I am very excited to inform you that I am an official barista at Starbucks! Many people stay away from Starbucks due to the false assumption that all the beverages and foods are high-calorie. Thankfully, Starbucks includes many low sugar and low calorie options for the health-conscious people of the world.

Mochas. Thick, chocolately goodness. High-sugar right? False. Today I made my first ever Skinny Mocha. This drink uses sugar-free chocolate syrup and nonfat milk mixed with, of course, fresh espresso. I personally think the syrup is a tad to sweet, so I made my drink with one less pump of mocha sauce and an extra shot of espresso. My grande, 16oz. drink was only 100 calories with 12g of carbs. Awesome right?

If you want brilliantly crafted sweet beverages without all the sugar carbs, just ask for sugar-free syrup. My personal favorites are sugar-free hazelnut and vanilla. They are perfect in lattes.

As far as food is concerned, Starbucks offers a variety of low-cal foods. Breakfast wraps with egg whites allow you to consume all the protein without the fat. There are also reduced fat pastries that are quite delicious.

Most dietitians say skip the latte. I say, BRING ON THE LATTE!!! (sugar free of course).

Happy Coffee-Drinking

Someone told me that a black belt is simply a white belt that never gives up. We all have the capacity to become a black belt in karate or in life so long as we are willing to commit and work hard.

Auburn University’s softball team is the perfect example of how to push yourself hard to get the results you want. This workout is CRAZY! I did some of these movements in high school ball practice. Hardest. Speed Workout. Ever.

This video was my original inspiration for this blog. It shows that by altering ONE phrase, you can change a person’s perception of something. “I am blind” is a much less effective way of saying, “It is a beautiful day, and I can’t see it.”

Words can change lives. Don’t arbitrarily use your words without thinking of their impact. Next time you say something, carefully construct your words to leave a raw and memorable impact on someone. Change someone’s life, whether it be the mailman, your mother, the bartender, or the department store clerk.
